Overview
Council’s primary function is to be the vision of the parish and to set long term goals and objectives for the parish in four areas of Word, Worship, Community and Service as outlined in Bishop Bambera’s pastoral letter. To be considered for membership the council seeks, individuals who are at least 18 years of age and have received the sacraments of initiation to consider servant leadership. Candidates must be registered members of the parish who attend parish liturgies, must be willing to participate in bi-monthly meetings, must desire prayer and spiritual growth for themselves and the parish, must show enthusiasm for the future of the parish, and possess the ability to inspire and empower others by their actions. Because council decisions are made by general consensus of the group, candidates must be willing to work in a team environment, be able to articulate what they have heard and believe, be willing to complete or delegate tasks when necessary, and be able to commit time and energy to enhancing parish life.
